Christ the Foundation Rock Ministry was founded on Sunday, 2^nd July, 2000. The Ministry began in the sitting room of Rev. (Dr.) Benjamin Kolawole AKINTOLA with his immediate family which comprise of his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Janet Olufunmilayo AKINTOLA and his five children alongside five of their relatives at 11, Ifelodun Street, Zone 5, Orisunmibare Community, Ado-Ekiti.

The Church then had no name, it was just a Fellowship. However, before the service ended that Sunday, the members grew to twenty (20). On Sunday, 16^th July, 2000, after much persuasion from some brethren, the Church was moved to an uncompleted building at Adehun area, opposite VIO Office, beside Adehun Filling Station.

The name, Christ the Foundation Rock Ministry was given to the Church on Sunday, 23^rd July, 2000. The LORD has been good to the Ministry in many ways beyond the expectation of man. With the help and support of Almighty GOD, the Church began growing and before the end of Year 2000, the Ministry had had four (4) Branches within Ekiti State.
